Feminism is feminist supremacy?
When I first heard about feminism, I didn't know what the specific reason was, but I intuitively thought it must be a "super hardcore" ideology. Perhaps many people, like me, are entangled in the use of "feminism" and wonder, what feminism wants to do is fight for women's rights, right? But what more to fight for?
It wasn't until I heard Emma Watson's sentence "As long as you believe in gender equality, you are a feminist" that I realized that I, who would be sad about gender inequality, was actually a feminist at heart.
For those of you who have heard of feminism but don't know what it is, regardless of identity, gender identity, occupation, or ethnicity, maybe you can start by following these five IG illustration accounts and get a glimpse of the softness of feminism in a light way.
Rupi Kaur:讓我為女性經驗寫詩
Indian-Canadian poet Rupi Kaur released a collection of poems "Milk and Honey" in 2017, his poetry collection and illustrations are like experiments, using a microscope to magnify and observe women's daily life, with the basis of encouraging women's self-growth. The illustrations also show the same style as the poetry collection, often using black and white minimalist lines to depict the artistic conception that the poems want to convey. Haley Weave: Hidden in the adult appearance, my girlish soul will never die
Illustrator Haley Weaver is good at depicting women around her in a rich hand-drawn style, often combined with solar terms and the environment, using natural plants and climate change to compare the soft and resolute characteristics of women. As you grow older and experienced, you may gradually grow into your ideal adult, but the little girl in your heart is still there, and you still often look at things from a child's perspective.
minervagm: My minimalism is not black and white, but focuses on feeling the present moment of life
The minimalism you believe in is not necessarily a combination of black and white, but rather discards unnecessary processing and beautification, leaving behind important imagery and elements. From home decoration to clothing, you believe that minimalism can make life simple, focusing on the richness of the world and life. Illustrator Minervagm from Mexico incorporates simple geometric lines into female gestures and colors to present a simple yet powerful female image, you can feel the happiness and richness of being a woman from the painting, and through the painting, you are sure that you like the softness and diversity that you have as a woman.
Camila Rosa: Why should others define the existence of women?
Brazilian illustrator Camila Rosa's work is infused with the enthusiasm and vitality of South America, adding a large number of warm color blocks to neutralize the powerful bodies and expressions of the women in the paintings, which is exactly what your personality is. You are not willing to be ordinary, you do not easily argue with people who despise women, you believe that proving ability with actions is more effective than verbal communication. I don't even care what others think of me, "Why do others need to define my existence?" The most common thought that comes to mind, you focus on your professional field and be fully prepared to let everyone see the power of women and let those who despise you stop commenting. Nicole: Big things turn small things into nothing, and the sense of humor in life depends on yourself!
Although there are many "small misfortunes" in life, you can still think about the good, life is like a game for you, and living happily is the way to keep the game going. Illustrator Nicole's work fits perfectly into your daily life, but when you go to the supermarket and completely forget what to buy, make New Year's resolutions that are similar every year, etc., all the difficult things are not difficult in your eyes. From Nicole's works, you find that you completely love yourself for "facing life optimistically even if things don't go well"!
If you want to happily pay attention to gender issues, be surrounded by warm female experiences, and gain motivation to move forward while swiping your phone to rest, I recommend you to follow the above five accounts, and also recommend you to introduce them to your friends, so that feminism can permeate your daily life and live together as a rich and diverse and charming woman!
