South Korea's SBS TV program "Want to Know the Truth" recently aired a special episode of Shirley, interviewing sour people and black fans who had criticized Shirley in the past.

A month ago, she used her death to tell the world the horrors of online anonymous bullying. But have those who actually inflicted violence really learned their lesson? She didn't know, and she couldn't have had the chance to know. Her name is Choi Truth, a 25-year-old woman who suffers from depression, and perhaps you are more familiar with her other name, Choi Shirley.

South Korea's SBS TV program "Want to Know the Truth" recently aired a special episode of Shirley, and the program team interviewed the acid people and black fans who had criticized Shirley in the past, and they left messages on the Internet, saying how Shirley could show her nipples, saying that she was a bitch, and saying that she just wanted to get attention. Now, when Shirley chose to hang herself because she couldn't bear the pressure, the real thoughts of the sour people made Korean netizens attack again. can't bear negative reviews, what kind of artist do you want to be with others?

Facing the question of the program team, Sour Man A said, "Then how is it a curse, I didn't tell him to die, I don't care if he dies or not! Then again, can you be an entertainer if you are so fragile? Artists just want to stand in front of the public!"

Sour B, who once commented on Shirley, said: "I'm joking, although Shirley is a girl, but I think his spirit is actually much stronger than that of a boy, so even if I comment like this, she won't care." Moreover, I understand that the bad comment is 'go die'. Artists are not only concerned and loved, but of course they have to bear bad reviews. Isn't it true that artists enjoy famous cars and mansions at the cost of negative reviews?"

After Shirley's death, a live broadcaster lied on the Internet that he was Shirley's ex-boyfriend and filmed a video, and he also appeared on the "Want to Know the Truth" program, saying that he wanted to remember Shirley forever through this form. He also emphasized, "I don't think it's right for artists to be sad and hurt when they see negative reviews, this is what artists should bear. If that's it because of negative reviews, then I think it's better not to be an artist."

Looking at the above remarks, it is not difficult to find that sour people and black fans actually know that their messages and criticisms are very hurtful, but at the same time, they also believe that public figures should suffer these injuries, and they also expect public figures to face them with a smile. The acid people hide behind the identity of the "public", and spread the reach of "negative comments" endlessly. When the artist is not good-looking enough and does not make the public look pleasing to the eye, it is appropriate to be humiliated; When the artist's performance does not meet the expectations of the public, it is even more appropriate to be scolded to the point of stink.

But in fact, what profession "should" be subject to the magnified scrutiny and endless criticism of all? What kind of person "can" be 100% able to laugh at everything after being attacked? The unreasonable requirements and expectations for artists have become the biggest faith support for the acid people - because artists should bear this, so I can't do it too much.

In fact, the attack on public figures by the acid people is hidden behind the packaging of "should be reviewed", which is overly reasonable. (Recommended reading: Black Powder Psychology: Why Are There Always a Bunch of People Rushing to "Doxx" Others?)

If it's hard to change the sour people, what else can we do?

From the program "Want to Know the Truth", we can see that some people are unable to learn from past experiences no matter what. International human rights worker Yim Ji-ho has written in Can Pain Be Shared? In the book, he analyzes the mentality of sour people and black fans, and he mentioned:

Celebrities are great prey for those who want to enjoy the pain of others. The gossip about the depravity of celebrities spreads to the masses at the speed of light and is completely stripped naked, and when an otherwise famous person goes into decline, people gather to watch. Eating popcorn and watching celebrities finish, there's nothing more fun in the world than this.

In addition to exposing their hypocrisy, there is another reason why celebrities are targeted by black fans. Because in the world of black fans, in order to keep attracting attention, it is necessary to introduce "stronger things" in order to continue to attract people's interest and improve their "prestige" by the way. And the best way to increase your "prestige" is to destroy a celebrity. "I've won over that guy!" 's mood, as if he stood on the status of that person in one fell swoop.

In the face of criticism, we can first distinguish between constructive opinions and radical statements that are simply criticized for the sake of criticism. What we can do is to train ourselves to deal with "constructive opinions", and as for those negative comments that are emotional and do not have any practical help, please remember that the real you are far better than what black fans say.

In the past, women fans have worked in "How to Face Criticism from Others? Psychologists give five suggestions" mentions:

Sometimes, the oncoming criticism is really unforgiving, and even contains some unfounded accusations. At that moment, it may be difficult for you to control your emotions, but before reacting further, take a deep breath or step out of the room and give yourself some time and space to empty your head.

Because the more emotional you are, the less likely you are to think rationally, and the more flawed your behavior will be. It's best if you can stay where you are and smile – smiling will help you relax and make you speak more gently.

From Yang Youying in 2015, to Jong Hyun in 2017, to Cui Xueli in 2019, we have gone through many processes of collective mourning, but if society does not truly learn from it, it will never be able to prevent the tragedy from happening again, and it will always be repeated. I really hope that some dark fans and sour people can understand the harm caused by their actions to others, and if they can't make constructive suggestions, they will at least learn to shut up. Just remind yourself with this article, and also tell you, never become a sour person who hurts others without knowing it.
