The 8th GWIS Global Women's Impact Forum 2025 focuses on "Beginning with Awareness, Ending with Confusion", leading the audience to confront the sources of anxiety in contemporary society through thematic dialogues and a series of mini-workshops.

In the fast-paced world, anxiety is a life issue for almost everyone. From the impact of technological development, the dilemma of interpersonal relationships, or from the pressure of appearance and comparative psychology, anxiety seems to be everywhere.

On March 8, International Women's Day, the 8th GWIS Global Women's Influence Forum was held, with the theme of Beginning with Awareness and Ending with Confusion, leading the audience to confront the sources of anxiety in contemporary society through thematic dialogues and a series of mini-workshops.

This event invited Professor Hu Xiaowei, associate professor of the School of Intelligent Computing and Quantum of Zhongyuan University/founder of Data Lab, Jane Liang, director of the Department of Aesthetic Medicine of Galderma Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Wu Mingjie, co-founder of Tianlai Talent Management Consultant/designated human resources consultant of new and second-generation enterprises, etc., experts and female entrepreneurs from all walks of life gathered together to bring a full range of anxiety solutions to the audience.

This year, the "Thematic Dialogue X Series Mini Workshop" will be adopted in a new format, which further expands the forum activities from viewpoint sharing to concrete practical exercises, helping each participant to start from "anxiety", find the way forward through inner awareness, and then focus on self-realization, and finally move towards a life without confusion.

Cheung Wai Hin X Chan Yee Zhen: We want to start a business because we know that "the world is not like this"

In the first thematic dialogue at the beginning of the event, co-founders Zhang Weixuan and Chen Yizhen of Woman Fan used their own entrepreneurial journey to reveal how women find a balance between anxiety and freedom. Two people with very different styles, because they have a common concern, choose to move forward hand in hand, and find their true selves in the process.

Seeing the difference is the beginning of our cooperation. It is also an important starting point for us to understand ourselves.

Co-founder of Woman Fan Chen Yizhen

The process of starting a business is not all smooth sailing, and the stereotype of women and female entrepreneurs in society has also made Wei Xuan and Yi Zhen question and anxiety about themselves.

However, it is precisely these adversities and anxieties that have made them more convinced that what they hope to create is a free world where everyone can find and become their true selves.

Wei Xuan and Yi Zhen led the participants to use the FACTS Five Steps to Awareness of Anxiety, Break the Imposter Syndrome, and expand their personal horizons through the communication practice of Female Power Awakening Cards, from being aware of anxiety to seeing more possibilities. Wei Xuan also emphasized that the most important thing in living with anxiety is to face your emotions.

Don't deny your emotions, but let each emotion work for you by being aware of your anxiety.

Entering the exchange time, the discussion in the venue came and went. Some of the participants at the scene are full-time students who have participated in every GWIS, and there are also new partners who participate for the first time, even if they don't know each other, but under the leadership of Wei Xuan and Yi Zhen, everyone is focused on awareness and communication together at this moment.

As Wei Xuan said, "When you choose to come here today, you choose to take the first step for yourself."

Hu Xiaowei: To build "digital resilience", you have to know yourself very well

The rise of AI technology has made the world full of possibilities, but it has also brought unprecedented anxiety. Xiaowei Hu, associate professor of the School of Intelligent Computing and Quantum at Chung Yuan University and founder of Data Lab, was invited to bring the first mini workshop to guide the audience to turn technological anxiety into efficiency in the fast-paced contemporary era.

Professor Hu Xiaowei explained that the essence of technological anxiety is the fear of uncertainty in the future. With the rapid development of technology, it is easy for people to fall into the "shiny thing syndrome", because they are afraid that they will not be able to grasp all the new knowledge, and they will fall into the endless pursuit. In order to get rid of blind followers, we must see what we really need.

When the big waves come, as long as you have a clear sense of values and values, you will know how to priortize your life.

Xiaowei Hu, Associate Professor, School of Intelligent Computing and Quantum, Chung Yuan University/Founder of Data Lab

Professor Hu Xiaowei mentioned that in order to build "digital resilience", we must first understand ourselves enough, not to believe what others say, but to experience what we believe. He emphasised that it is important to learn new technologies, but in order to continue learning, you must first find your own self-motivation model and not let fear and anxiety become the driving force for progress.

One of the most important capabilities in the AI era is the ability to observe and care about the world. Continue to observe the changes and needs of society, and you will find your place in the needs.

Xiaowei Hu, Associate Professor, School of Intelligent Computing and Quantum, Chung Yuan University/Founder of Data Lab

Nowadays, AI technology is becoming more and more developed, and the participants at the scene have also expressed anxiety about the authenticity of information, and how to face these anxieties, Professor Hu Xiaowei gave the solution: we must create more truth together. When we are exposed to the truth enough, we will be able to develop the ability to distinguish between the true and the false.

Professor Hu Xiaowei also emphasized that in the era of AI, you must focus more on observing the world and caring about the world. When faced with explosive information, remember to leave blank at the right time, stop and think about what you really care about, and pursue what you really want is more important than blindly chasing the trend.

Jane: Leave aside the standards of the outside world and define your own beauty

In the framework given by society, we are often forced to cater to certain aesthetic standards, but ignore what is truly suitable for ourselves. The mini-workshop "Let go of external standards and pursue your own unique beauty of life" was invited by Jane Liang, Director of the Aesthetic Medicine Business Department of Galderma Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in France.

Jane Liang, Director of the Aesthetic Medicine Business Unit of Galderma Pharmaceuticals in France

Entering each stage of life, facing different life roles, there are different anxieties. Perhaps anxiety about changes in appearance and anxiety about whether or not it meets social expectations, Jane shared with the participants how he started from curiosity about himself through the "path of awareness" when facing difficulties, accepted himself, changed himself, and finally came to the end without confusion.

As a business leader and mother, Jane believes that awareness is about being curious about yourself, and when you have that curiosity, you have the opportunity to see and embrace your uniqueness to make a difference. He also shared that the transition from awareness to confusion is not just a one-way street, but a continuous cycle of curiosity, acceptance, and change, and that as long as you continue to pay attention to yourself, you will have the opportunity to create more possibilities.

Always appreciate what you've accomplished, rather than criticizing what you haven't done.

Jane Liang, Director of the Aesthetic Medicine Business Unit of Galderma Pharma, France

Speaking of "The Standard of Beauty", Jane shared several survey data to help participants quickly understand the needs of modern "beauty seekers". From the data side, we can see that an increasing proportion of people no longer pursue a single beauty, but are more inclined to "health", "be yourself", and regard improving appearance as a kind of "self-expression".

However, how can you find the beauty that suits you, and how can you "be yourself"? Jane put forward the concept of "knowing beauty", encouraging everyone to "know", "understand", "understand" and "accept" their own unique beauty more consciously in the process of seeking beauty.

Let go of the standards of the outside world, and you have to know that you are the most important thing. The moment when you are most comfortable is the most beautiful you.

Jane Liang, Director of the Aesthetic Medicine Business Unit of Galderma Pharma, France

Jane uses three key words: "ageless beauty", "active beauty", and "personality beauty" to redefine the concept of beauty, emphasizing that true beauty is not subject to the framework of age, and he also encourages everyone to replace passivity with the active and actively pursue the beauty in their own definition, because being yourself is the essence of beauty. In the process of seeking beauty, you must clearly know who you are and what you want.

Finally, Jane also invited the participants to be self-aware, from the "ageless beauty", "active beauty", "personality beauty", from the inside, to see their own characteristics, and take the initiative to create a self-confident action guide for themselves.

Jane also encouraged the participants to start the "Gratitude Exercise", through which they can more consciously see and appreciate their own beauty, regain control of their lives, and fall in love with their true selves again.

Wu Mingjie: From my world to your world, let's create our world together

Communication and interpersonal relationships are important issues in the modern workplace and life. In the last mini workshop, Gwen, co-founder of Tianlai Talent Management Consultants, was invited to lead participants to understand their own communication styles with others through Everything DiSC® interpersonal style analysis, and improve their interpersonal acumen in the workplace and life.

Quoting Harvard University's study of happiness, Gwen points out that any form of happiness requires good relationships. Gwen guided everyone to use SOS systematic learning and AAA learning methods to practice from knowing oneself to understanding others, and then further adjust themselves to establish an effective communication model that suits each other.

The key to relationships is whether we are willing to step out of our own world and into the other person's perspective. When we understand the needs of the other person, we can adjust our expression and make the conversation more effective.

Gwen, co-founder of Tianlai Talent Management Consultants

Ineffective communication is a major cause of relationship cracks, but these communication dilemmas often come from different ways of looking at things. Everything DiSC® uses the scientific method to help you see your own communication tendencies with others and practice speaking in the way you like each other.

Everything DiSC® categorizes human behavior styles into four types: Dominance, Influence, Conscientiousness, and Steadiness. Gwen also emphasized: "There is no good or bad style, everyone has their own strengths and blind spots, the key is to see the differences and consciously adjust."

Mature people can play to their strengths according to the needs of the situation and consciously pay attention to their blind spots. The practice of sensitivity and maturity is an ongoing journey.

Gwen, co-founder of Tianlai Talent Management Consultants

Gwen conducted a simple "style matching" on the spot, using two questions to let the participants quickly identify their possible style attributes, and invited people with the same style to share their preferred communication styles, and finally gave further explanations for different styles.

As Gwen explained the tendencies of each style, the participants nodded their heads in agreement, as if they had finally met someone who could truly understand them. Gwen then invites everyone to imagine a person they want to talk to, use the same two questions to guess the style attributes of the other person, and try to understand it from the other person's point of view.

Following Gwen's guidance, the audience not only recognized their own strengths and blind spots, but also practiced how to gradually establish a good interpersonal relationship model from knowing themselves and understanding others to conscious adjustments through practical communication exercises.
